A whole lot of nothing

So this week has been full of Christmas preparations and sickness. Just me, I think it might have been food poisoning because it was only for a day. I am still not up to snuff but I am getting better.
Over the weekend we made hundreds of cookies, fudge, banana bread and delivered them to a few of our friends in the area. We spent all day Sunday working on taking pictures for our family nativity, we went to go see Grandma and Grandpa Woolsey and spent some time with them. And I have been working on getting ready for Christmas.
My preparations have been hindered by hiatus yesterday but luckily (for me) Josh's plant broke down and he had half of yesterday off and all of today. He has had to help out around the house with laundry, presents and he even made rice crispy treats with Grace.

Grace tried to put the tutu on by herself the next day.
Grace has been loving all the snow outside. She takes the blow dryer and tells us she is going to blow all the snow off of "daddy's truck". She then proceeds to blow off other areas that she can see.

We made those peanut butter cookies with the Hershey kiss on them. Grace helped unwrap them and didn't even try to eat one! I couldn't believe it. She really liked unwrapping them.

Grace "helping" shovel the snow.

She doesn't like to play in the snow or walk in the snow but she loves to push it around.

Thank you Javauna for the tree garland! We love it!

So Grace came up to me the other day after her snack and told me that her cheese was in her toes. It went through her belly and down to her toes. She then told me she was full up to her armpits. This is her illustrating how she is full up to them.

Jail time

Our big boy standing up. He started stading up about an hour after I posted last week that he wasn't yet. I am not encouraging this, but he loves it. Grace started walking when she was about a week older thank he is now. I am glad that he is taking a little longer. I still think he will be walking all too soon.

With family time and Christmas festivities upon us I can not promise when I will post next. So I will wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Can you say Merry Christmas?

Grace is not very good at saying it but she does recognize Santa.
This week has been filled with Christmas preparations, activities and a lack of cleaning as a result. We haven't done a lot worth recording. Just plugiging away.
Everyday when Josh gets home from work Grace drops whatever she is doing and runs to the garage. He has her carry his lunch box in and she loves it.
She often checks to see if Josh is home based on the lunchbox by the door and the truck in the driveway. If they are here and he is not she gets confused and won't let it go till she finds him.

Mikey is starting to pull up on things. He is not to a standing position yet. It is just a matter of time.

Grace on Sunday, Thanks again Nana for the dress.

We decorated a gingerbread house on Sunday. I love how the kit gives you everything you need. Very easy and decorating is the best part.

She ate some candy but since Mikey was sleeping we were able to get most on the house.

She always wants to eat the candy now. She sneaks in and gets some I think. She always tries when I feed her at the counter. The temptation is too strong.

Another one of Mikey's obstacles.

We gave the kids Mickey and Minnie ornaments this year. Grace really enjoyed putting stuff on the tree. She has enjoyed rearranging the bottom portion of our tree and calls the balls apples. The tree is HUGE, the good thing is that I was able to hang some of the more fragile ornaments up high. We haven't used them for 2 years.

Mikey is always crawling over to the tree. He just loves it. I found him opening a present the other day. I think it was his so I guess it is alright. He was having a good time with the tissue paper.

It is expensive to heat our house, so we keep the thermostat pretty low. Grace and Mikey's rooms are always the warmest in the house luckily. But the other day when Grace got up from a nap she ran to the couch and kept saying "I cold" over and over. She was very pleased when I brought her a pillow and turned on a show.

Some pictures of our decorations

I just put the finishing touches on Mikey and Gracie's stockings. Like sewing the back on Grace's. I guess 2 years is better than my brother who didn't have a back to his till a few year ago.

My Christmas tree collection. Some one please remind Josh he hasn't bought me this years tree yet.

Josh and I found this advent calendar in Tahoe at a fair. I like it because every night we are able to review the Nativity story with Grace every night. She is starting to retain bits of it. We just got a Sheppard last night. Looking forward to wise men.

Another nativity Grace is able to play with.

Mikey and our Reindeer collection a'la Grandma Ellen. With Grace Hamming it up for the camera. She was doing somersaults.

Oh Deer.

Such a darling face.

Grace wasn't about to miss out on the fun.

If only they had been so cooperative for our Christmas card. By the way if you don't get one soon it is probably because I don't have your address, give it to me and I will send you one. I got them at Costco and I have a bunch left still.

I don't know if you knew that Flounder was part of the nativity.

Mikey really loves the tree.

Merry Christmas!
